This is a post made for new people who have no idea how to play among us.
I've had this question asked to me so I'm just going to say how to play incase anybody doesn't know how to play and goes to the subreddit for answers.
You can play among us via local or online
There are 3 maps in the game: The Skeld, Mira HQ, and Polus. You can play the game on I think 5 different languages and you can play any map with 1-3 imposters.
In Among Us there are 2 different roles: Crewmate and Imposter.
The crewmates have task and depending the on the server you join you will have a different number of task, with this you will also have speed, vision, emergency meetings, the list goes on. Your goal as a crewmate is to do task, when you do task the task bar goes up and if that task bar is full the crewmates win. Task are all around the map and some are different from the others, some task only make you do one thing others make you do 2-3 things, and there are also other task that make people know your innocent. If your lucky you can get a task known as "Submit medbay scan" or "Clear asteroids". If you can at least get somebody who knows what those task do to watch you do those task then you will be proven innocents since imposter dont have task. But besides the task thats all you need to know. Some good things to know is the map layouts, where task are, and where the imposters can sabotage, another thing to know is that if you see a person with a bone sticking out of their head then thats a dead body, you can report them and then discuss who you want to vote out or if you want to vote anybody out.
Now time for the interesting role, the imposters. As a imposter you dont have task meaning you have to fake task, stay away from the medbay scan or clear asteroids since if you attempt to do medbay in all 3 maps and clear asteroids in The Skeld and Polus (since in Mira HQ when you fire the cannon it actually doesnt play an animation). If your going to fake a task infront of somebody then wait until the task bar goes up and then start walking. As a imposter you can kill people and jump in vents. In the Skeld and Mira HQ when you enter a vent or hop out of a vent a animation plays where the vent goes up and then back down, in polus there is no animation since the vents are just holes. Its a good idea to kill anybody who is alone rather then with people, however if tons of people (lets say 5-7) are on top of each other doing on task then thats a good area you can kill somebody at. You can sabotage which when you press the button you will get a map of where ever you are (Skeld, Mira, Polus). You can then press a button which will cause a crisis to happen. In a crisis nobody can call a emergency meeting and with most crisis if the crewmates dont fix what is happening in a minute the imposter auto win. Some crisis include stuff like the lights which will make the lights turn off, making it impossible to see, or comms which will make stuff like cameras go off and be unable to be used.
There are a lot of interesting things to among us and mainly the voting system is one. When every a emergency meeting or a body is reported the game will go into voting mode. Here you can chat about if you want to vote somebody out and who to vote somebody out. When somebody is voted out it will play a animation of them getting killed, then it will say their name and if they were a imposter or not.
There are things in the maps that can help out a lot in catching the imposter. in Skeld There is 2 things that can help, the admin table and the cams. When you are in admin you will find a table and then when you walk to it you get the option to use the table, which will let you see a map of wherever you are as well as yellow heads that represent where people are, however they only show up in named areas. There is also the cameras which is in security. You will get 4 different camera views which can let you view areas of the map. However going to cams is very risky as you will be completely out in the open and will most likely die. Mira HQ has the admin table which is the same as the one in Skeld located in the admin area and then in comms you can get a computer that will show you which triggers people are walked by and who triggered it. Its a little difficult to explain. In polus you have the cameras located in security, the admin table in admin, and vitals which lets you see who is alive and who is dead.
For the most part that is all you really need to know on how among us works. Ill maybe do a updated one in the future that includes more things you should know but what I said is all you really need to know on how to play the game.
